Paul Stevens is the City Manager for the City of Waxahachie. He became City Manager on January 1, 2007. Prior to becoming City Manager, he served as Assistant City Manager for nearly nine years. Before coming to Waxahachie, he was the first City Administrator for the City of Ovilla. He has also served as the Assistant to the City Manager/Director of Economic Development for the City of Burleson, Budget Analyst for the City of Dallas and served his internship with the Town of Addison.
Paul received both his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Texas.
Paul serves on the Baylor Hospital Board of Trustees, the Brazos Area Health Education Center Advisory Board and is a past President of the North Texas City Management Association.
Paul and his wife Jennifer are the proud parents of two daughters, Sophie and Summer. They are members of First United Methodist Church, where Paul and Jennifer teach the high school Sunday school class.
Assistant City Manager
Assistant City Manager Michael Scott began his career at the City of Waxahachie in May of 2002 as the Downtown Director and later assumed the position of Director of Planning. He has served as the Assistant City Manager since January of 2007.
Michael is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. He went on to receive his Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Texas. Before coming to the City of Waxahachie, Michael worked in the private sector as a consultant with Deloitte & Touche.
He and his wife Karen live in Oak Leaf, TX and have two young boys, Jonathan and Ian.
City Secretary Lori Saunders has been with the City of Waxahachie since April 1999. She became City Secretary in October 2007. Previously, she was Court Administrator in the Waxahachie Municipal Court from 2004-2007 and Court Clerk from 1999 to 2004. She has also worked for the City of Burleson in the Finance Department.
Lori is a member of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association, North Texas Municipal Clerks Association and International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
She also serves on the Ellis County Emergency Food and Shelter Committee and the North Central Texas Housing Finance Corporation Committee.
Lori and her husband David reside in Waxahachie and have three children.
