Planning & Zoning
The primary function of the Planning Department is to implement the City of Waxahachie’s Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance. The Planning Department also carries out other ordinances as they apply to the City’s growth and development. This process involves staff review and recommendation on applications, and preparation and presentation at the meetings of the Planning and Zoning Commission, City Council, and Zoning Board of Adjustments.
