Trash Services Provided By Waste Connections:
Curbside garbage and recycling collection - Residents receive bagged garbage collection twice per week along with recycling collection once per week. **If you do not see your street name on the Trash and Recycling Pick- up Schedule above, or your trash is not picked up on the days listed above, please contact Waste Connections to find out the trash and recycling pick-up days, as they may have changed.

Bundles of tree trimmings Customers are allowed to place one bundle of tree trimmings on each pick-up day for collection. The bundle must be tied, less than 30 pounds, and less than 3 feet in length.
Free brush collection Customers can receive free brush collection up to 4 times per calendar year. Residents must call Waste Connections to order this service. Collection is on a first come, first serve basis. Customers are limited to 8 cubic yards per pick-up and the load must contain only brush (no solid waste.)
Leaves/Grass collection Waste Connections provides 2 free collections of leaves per calendar year (first Wednesday in February and November). On the first Wednesday of each month, Waste Connections collects bagged yard waste (i.e. grass clippings, leaves, brush clippings, etc.) from curbside for a charge. Residents much call the Waste Connections before 5:00 pm on the day before the collections to put their name on the list. The charge is $6.02 min. fee for up to 10 bags (30 gallons max. size) and each additional bag is $.61.
Bulky items each resident is allowed to have one bulk item collected from curbside once per calendar year. Residents must call in to Waste Connections to order this service. Collection is on a first come, first serve basis. Examples of bulky items would be: hot water heaters, washers, dryers, furniture, etc. Please schedule/confirm picked date prior to placing the item at the curb. Items containing Freon cannot be collected.
Extra loads customers can order extra loads for collection of items that cannot be placed with normal garbage collection. This service is on a first come, first serve basis and the customer will be charged according to the size of the load. Pricing for half of a truckload is $74.23 plus tax, a full truckload is $122.72 plus tax. Prices are subject to the annual price increase that takes place in October according to the contract. Residents must call Waste Connections to schedule this service.

What are considered recyclable items?
Cardboard Boxes:
  • Clean heavy brown packing boxes (i.e. moving or shipping boxes, corrugated)
  • No food boxes (cereal, soda, drinks, pizza)
  • No plastic coated boxes
  • Larges boxes cut in half to 3’ x 5’
  • Flatten all cardboard
Leaves/Grass:
  • Leaves/grass ONLY
  • Leaves/grass left in garbage bags will be charged $2.00 a bag
Mulch Loading:
  • Friday and Saturday only. Line up and be in place by 1:00 p.m. for loading.
  • Residents can hand load mulch any time during regular business hours.

ARTICLE III. - CITIZEN'S CONVENIENCE STATION
Sec. 14-38. - Access restricted.
(a)The main purpose of the citizen's convenience station is to provide the city's residents a place to dispose of solid waste that cannot be collected by their curbside or alley service. Persons living outside the city limits, commercial service companies, and/or businesses may utilize citizens convenience station as space dictates, however during times of limited space may be denied access in order to provide available space to the city's residents. City garbage bill/Water bill and a photo I.D. are required to verify city residency.
(b)Construction waste from other than a city resident will not be accepted. City residents with construction waste will be limited to: two (2) cubic yard maximum loads three (3) times per calendar year. Construction waste cannot be accepted at this time.
(c)Times of operation: The citizen's convenience station shall be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
Sec. 14-39. - Fees.
(a)Service fees for the handling, compaction, disposal, or otherwise processing of refuse brought to any state-approved city disposal site shall be charged for according to the bulk, nature of refuse, and difficulty of handling, compaction, or disposal. Charges for general refuse shall be on a quantity basis of five dollars ($5.00) per cubic yard of refuse for material originating inside the city limits. For material originating outside the city limits, commercial service companies, and/or businesses shall be fifteen dollars ($15.00) per cubic yard. General refuse shall include solid waste and other materials that can be readily compacted and reduced in size without special handling with the exception of Class I nonhazardous waste, hazardous waste, and special waste.
(b)Tree limbs, brush, and hedge trimming disposal. Individuals living inside the city limits may dispose of tree limbs, brush, and hedge trimmings for free as long as no solid waste of any kind is mixed in with the load. Individuals and/or businesses that operate a tree trimming service are not allowed this free service.
(c)Tree limbs, brush, hedge trimmings brought to the convenience station by tree trimming businesses or persons residing outside the city limits shall be charged a minimum of fifteen dollars ($15.00) for up to two (2) cubic yards and seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) for each additional cubic yard. Loads mixed with solid waste will not be accepted.
