MISSION STATEMENT

To protect life and property from fire through strong prevention, code enforcement, and suppression programs.  To establish the best rescue and Pre-hospital care plan possible. To develop a master emergency plan to provide direction for the City during major disasters.

The Waxahachie Fire Department is a fully paid career fire department with its own training facility.  Only state certified firefighters are hired to be a part of our 44 member team that operates under State Civil Service Law.  Two stations protect approximately 55 square miles inside the city limits.  Mutual aid agreements exist with all surrounding cities.  The department responds to an average of 185 calls per month.  The Waxahachie Fire Department has a Class 2 ISO rating.
