This 100 acre recreation complex is being built with funds from sales tax. Contract for construction of Phase I of this project was awarded by the Waxahachie Community Development Board on Tuesday, September 21, 1999, to Dean Electric dba Dean Construction of Cedar Hill, Texas. A ground breaking ceremony was held on Tuesday, October 26, 1999. Phase I of this project includes the following:
10 unlighted soccer fields
3 lighted soccer fields
6 lighted softball fields
1 adult size lighted baseball field
1 lighted football field
1 playground
Grade work for entire site
developed area irrigated and hydromulched
Parking lots and drives
Infrastructure (water, sewer, electrical) for entire site
To be built before opening in Fall 2000 but not in this contract, 2 concession / restroom buildings, paving, and maintenance building.
