2020 Asphalt Street Rehabilitation

The Asphalt Street Rehabilitation Program is an annual program that focuses on improving asphalt roads and streets in Waxahachie. The Public Works director reviews the condition of asphalt streets and determines the need for improvements.  Below is a list of some critieria that are utilized when adding streets to the program: 
-Visual inspection of the damage and consition
-Test drive the damage and condition
-Checks for traffic flow and speed limit
-Size of street
-Citizens requests

Once a street has been approved for the program, below is a general timeline of the phases of work:
Phase 1 - Excavation and Scarification of the old road
Phase 2 - Reshaping and Compacting the road
Phase 3 - Cement Stabilizer
Phase 4 - Asphalt Overlays

2020 Asphalt Rehab Update for week of 11/9

  • Indian Hills - curb & gutter repairs at various locations, cement stabilizer being put in at Indian Trace lane / Kiowa Lane loop. Please do not park on street.
  • Peters Street - Cement stabilizer being put in.
