Chief Joe Wiser
Chief Joe Wiser began serving the Waxahachie Police Department on November 3, 1990. He was sworn in as Police Chief on September 30, 2022.
During his tenure with our organization, he has served in the patrol division, criminal investigations division, communications division, among other ancillary functions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Dallas Baptist University and is a graduate of the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration Command College. He also holds his Master Certification through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.

Assistant Chief Dale Sigler
Dale Sigler is the Assistant Chief of Police of Operations. He has been with the Waxahachie Police Department since 2003. He has worked and supervised in the Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions. Assistant Chief Sigler served as a Field Training Officer, Honor Guard Member and Supervisor, and SWAT Team Leader. Assistant Chief Sigler is a current member and former Director of the Waxahachie Police Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Tarleton State University. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He also holds a Master Certification through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. He served in the U.S. Army prior to coming to Waxahachie Police Department. Assistant Chief Sigler is married with 2 children.

Assistant Chief Marcus Brown
Marcus Brown is the Assistant Chief of Support Services. He has been with the Waxahachie Police Department since 1999. He has worked and supervised in Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and Administration. Assistant Chief Brown served as the City’s Emergency Management Coordinator for a period of five years. He holds a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University. He is also a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute Leadership Command College and holds a Master Certification through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
