Overview
Waxahachie Police Department’sRecords Service Division is responsible for filing and maintaining all reports generated by the police department. In addition, it will answer all open records requests for information on offenses and accidents that occur within Waxahachie, upon review by the Asst. Chief of Operations.

Date
Case Number
Date of Incident
Name of person/persons involved
Date of Birth of person/persons involved

Open Record Requests will be responded to within ten (10) business days from the date received and mailed via to the USPS address given on your request.

To Obtain a copy of ACCIDENT Reports, PLEASE furnish the following:
The report number if available.
The date and Time of accident.
The exact location of accident.
The name of one of the individuals involved in accident

Typically the accident reports are available next day, but by law accident investigators have 10 business days to turn in reports. Request may be made by USPS mail or in person. The cost for an accident report is $6.00. We accept cash or money order only. We are unable to email reports at this time.

REQUESTS CANNOT BE HANDLED OVER THE TELEPHONE.

NO INFORMATION WILL BE GIVEN OVER THE PHONE.

Letters of Clearance
A Letter of Clearance is a letter that certifies whether a person has been convicted of a criminal offense (excluding traffic or minor regulatory ordinances). This letter is issued for passport, immigration, or adoption purposes only and cannot provide character reference or identification. Members of the general public requesting a letter of clearance must request such letters in person at the Records Services Division. Requesters can obtain these letters only for themselves, not for any other person, and will be required to present two forms of identification at the time of processing. Examples of identification: Valid State Driver’s License, Valid State Identification Card, Social Security Card, Passport.

Fingerprinting
Waxahachie Police Department does offer ink fingerprinting (non-digital) for the following only: Citizens of Waxahachie and/or businesses located within the city limits. Verification is processed by using your Valid State Driver’s license or State issued ID with your current address. Cost of fingerprinting: $10.00 per person. Cash or Money Order only. If you live outside the city limits or require digital fingerprinting, you may contact L-1 Identity Solutions at 1-888-467-2080.

Vacation House Check
Waxahachie Police Department offers vacation house check for citizens of Waxahachie within the city limits. Fill out form below and return to the police department via USPS mail, Emailed, Faxed, or in person.
