GOVERNOR ISSUES EXECUTIVE ORDER WITH MORE COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

An Executive Order by Governor Greg Abbott was issued today that prohibits social gatherings of groups of 10 or more people, prohibits dine-in eating at restaurants and bars, and also prohibits visitation at nursing homes. Drive-thru and takeout/curbside/delivery dining is allowed. This order is effective at 11:59pm on March 20, 2020, and continuing to April 3, 2020, and subject to extension.

This executive order does not prohibit people from visiting a variety of places, including grocery stores, gas stations, parks, and banks, so long as the necessary precautions are maintained to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. This executive order does not mandate sheltering in place.
