The Asphalt Street Rehabilitation Program is an annual program that focuses on improving asphalt roads and streets in Waxahachie. The Public Works director reviews the condition of asphalt streets and determines the need for improvements. Below is a list of some criteria that are utilized when adding streets to the program:
-Visual inspection of the damage and condition
-Test drive the damage and condition
-Checks for traffic flow and speed limit
-Size of street
-Citizens requests
Once a street has been approved for the program, below is a general timeline of the phases of work:
Phase 1 - Excavation and Scarification of the old road
Phase 2 - Reshaping and Compacting the road with a stabilizer
Phase 3 - Asphalt Overlay
