Waxahachie Citizens Police Academy
WHAT IS IT? The Waxahachie Police Department Citizen Police Academy (CPA) is designed to give the public a working knowledge of the Waxahachie Police Department and allow the attendees to experience the duties of a police officer first hand. The class will meet for six weeks, on Thursday evenings, from 6pm to 8pm, at different locations in the area.

WHO MAY ATTEND? The minimum age for enrollment is 21, and you must live or work in the City of Waxahachie to be eligible to attend.

THE PURPOSE: You will learn and experience what it is like to be a police officer. 

TOPICS: The Dispatch Experience, Use of Force, The Patrol Experience, K-9 Call Out, Traffic Unit Challenge, Basic Investigation, Crime Scene Call Out, S.W.A.T., and Firearms Training

COST: Free

NEXT CLASS: The next class begins March 21, 2019 and runs each Thursday night from 6pm to 8pm for six weeks. The dates are March 21, 28, April 4, 11, 18, and 25.
