CITY STAFF COMPLETES CERTIFIED PUBLIC MANAGER PROGRAM

The City of Waxahachie is honored to share that Executive Director of Development Services Shon Brooks and Downtown Redevelopment & Historic Preservation Manager Eleana Tuley have completed the Texas Certified Public Manager® (CPM) Program. They participated in the year-long program, which included learning about personnel administration, public communications, public finance, and budgeting, improving public sector productivity, and applied research for public managers.

Classes are capped at 30 students; a capstone project or applied project practicum must be completed to graduate. Students utilize the necessary tools to prepare and present a major research project related to their organization or area of interest.

Brooks and Tuley are two of seven current or former City of Waxahachie employees who have earned the Certified Public Manager designation in the last several years.
