What is the capacity of the Waxahachie Civic Center?

The Waxahachie Civic Center is a multi-event facility with several options to choose from. Room options and capacity are determined based on the needs of our customers while staying within Fire Marshal regulations. Please contact our office for more information.

Where is the Waxahachie Civic Center located?
The Waxahachie Civic Center is located at 2000 Civic Center Lane, Waxahachie, Texas 75165 near the intersection of Interstate 35 and Highway 287. 

What are the office hours of the Waxahachie Civic Center?

 Our office is open Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm (except for holidays observed by the City of Waxahachie). We suggest calling ahead to make an appointment to alleviate any wait times based on availability.

What is the booking policy at the Waxahachie Civic Center?

50% of the room rental and a signed rental agreement is required to book the date. All balances are due 10 business days prior to the first day of your event; however, events booked within 90 days of event date require a non-refundable payment equal to the total room rental fee with the signed rental agreement. Contract lessee will need to provide a state issued photo I.D. and current contact information (phone number & email). Additional deposits may be required.

[NOTE: Payments received to book date will serve as signed rental agreement.]

What is included with a room rental?

All our room rentals include an eight-hour time block within our event operating hours as well as tables & chairs custom arranged to fit the needs of your event.

Additional amenities including additional hours, A/V equipment, kitchen usage, linens, dance floor, stage, and more may all be available for rent at an additional charge (see website link below).

What time does the Waxahachie Civic Center close for events?

Event Operating Hours:
          Sundays – Thursdays from 7:00 am – 9:00 pm
          Fridays – Saturdays from 7:00 am – 11:00 pm

Please refer to your contract for specific event ending times, cleanup and exiting times. Additional hours can be purchased, please see our Policies & Procedures or your Event Coordinator for pricing. *Some restrictions apply. 

Am I allowed to hire a caterer for my event?
Yes, you may choose to hire a caterer for your event. All caterers will be required to obtain a Temporary Food Permit from the City of Waxahachie Health Department. Permit applications may be submitted online at Temporary Food Permit Application. All applications must be submitted no later than 10 business days prior to your event date.

 Please be advised that the permit process requires all caterers to have a commercial kitchen, inspection report (passed) in order to be approved for a Temporary Food Permit.

Can my caterer cook in your kitchen?
No, the kitchen at the Waxahachie Civic Center is strictly a prep-kitchen ONLY. We do not allow any cooking from a raw state in our kitchen.

Can I have live music at my event?
Contract lessee must meet rental requirements of renting two-thirds of the main ballroom (i.e. Ballroom 3,4,5 or Ballroom 1,2,5) to have a band or any live music of any kind. The level of sound in your room will be monitored, as this is a multiple event facility.

*Live music includes, but is not limited to, guitarists, saxophonists, mariachis, pianos/keyboards, etc.

I plan to have additional contractors/vendors at my event (DJ, photo booth, rentals, etc.), what is required from them?
All contractors/vendors must be properly licensed, permitted or certified (as applicable) before they can work at the Waxahachie Civic Center. Each contractor/vendor is required to provide a Certificate of Insurance listing the Waxahachie Civic Center as the Certificate Holder. COI is required a minimum of 72 hours prior to event.

*If a vendor does not have liability insurance, they can purchase an event policy at www.theeventhelper.com.

What size tables do you offer?
The most common tables are our 60” rounds and 8’ rectangles that seat 8 per table. Special sizes may be available upon request.

Does the Waxahachie Civic Center have outdoor facilities?
No, our facility is not set up for outdoor events. 

 
What is the cancellation/rescheduling policy of the Waxahachie Civic Center?
Notification of cancellation or request to reschedule must be received in writing by the lessee no later than the contract cancellation date to receive refund of down payment, less any applicable fees. A 10% processing fee will be accessed on all canceled/rescheduled events.
