Emergency Management

Emergency Management
On February 15, 2016, City Council reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of the citizens of Waxahachie by adopting a comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and Program.  Developed by the City Directors and coordinated by the office of Emergency Management staff, the plan is based on an all-hazards approach and addresses the activities of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.  The program is uniquely designed to address the needs of our citizens with the City's available resources.

Some of the Emergency Management Goals include the following:Emergency Management Logo
  • To achieve meeting the National Preparedness Goal: “A secure and resilient community with the capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond and recover from the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk.”
  • To ensure preparedness by scheduling reviews of the city’s plan, provide training to city staff, and test the training by conducting exercises and drills.
