The Waxahachie Police Department is a “Recognized” police agency by the Texas Police Chief Association.
On January 1, 2013, the Waxahachie Police Department became the 69th “Recognized” law enforcement agency by the Texas Police Chief Association. The Recognition program is a voluntary accreditation process where law enforcement agencies in the state prove their compliance with Texas Law Enforcement Best Practices. There are 166 standards that must be met in order to be recognized as a Best Practices agency. These Best Practices were carefully developed by Texas Law Enforcement professionals to assist agencies in the efficient, effective, and professional deliver of service. Every four years, a team of outside Chiefs and police administrators are sent to the agency to conduct an onsite assessment.
The Waxahachie Police Department was Re-Recognized in 2018 and remains committed to the program. We are committed to providing the highest level of service to the citizens of Waxahachie.
