Waxahachie 101

Waxahachie 101

The Waxahachie 101 program was developed in 2009 to promote a better understanding of local city government. The purpose is to help residents gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of City Council and City Staff, and become more aware of the departments, programs and activities. The program provides participants a general overview of city operations, visiting a different city department each session.

The only requirements to participate in Waxahachie 101 are that participants be 18 years of age or older, reside in Ellis County, and be able to attend meetings on a regular basis. The class is limited to 25 participants, and registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Registration will begin July 1, 2024 by emailing nichole.elliott@waxahachie.com or call 469-309-4018. Most meetings will be held the first Thursday of each month at 8:30 am. The sessions will begin in September 2024, and run until May 2025. The May meeting will be a “graduation” and appreciation luncheon.
